Smart 911 is Chatham Township’s Emergency & Community alert system.
The alert system is administered by Smart 911 a leading provider of critical communication solutions. If you previously registered for ‘Everbridge Alerts’ you need to re-register, however you can update and review your profile or register for the first time here. You can elect to receive alerts by phone, e-mail or text message.
When registering for Smart 911 you can choose the types of alerts you wish to receive, including:
- Emergency Alerts
- General Alerts
- Traffic Accidents or Detours
- Road Closures
- Severe Weather Alerts
- Power/Water Outages
- Crime Alerts/Police Activity
- Missing Persons, or
- Miscellaneous Community Alerts
HOW IT WORKS
Messages will be sent to all standard voice and text communication devices that you have registered, including landline phones, cell phones, e-mail. You should confirm receipt of the alert by replying with 'Yes' and hitting send. If you do not confirm receipt of the message, the system will try to reach your second contact number or e-mail. The system will continue to try to contact you until it receives a confirmation of receipt.

CHATHAM TOWNSHIP e-NEWS
The Chatham Township "e-News" is an an email communication service that registered residents receive when the Chatham Township website is updated. The emails list what has been updated and a link to the new information in included.
Chatham e-News is an "Opt-In" mailing list. You must register to receive e-mail notices. You may unsubscribe at any time. Every e-mail notice sent out contains a link at the bottom for you to unsubscribe. It should also be noted that these lists are considered a public record under New Jersey's Open Public Records Act, and the township may be required to provide the list if requested.
